DJI Mini 2 Intervalometer Hack
The DJI Mini 2 is a fantastic little drone! However under low light condition or heavy contrast lighting conditions the video output can be less than ideal.
One way to get a better image quality out of the drone is to use time lapses. This enables longer than 1/30s exposure hence bringing more light to the sensor. Unfortunately the built-in interval mode is pretty slow, but I found out that clicking on the shutter button allowed faster time lapse. In order to automate that process, I found a clever app for Android: "me.click - Click no ADS" which click at a fix interval on your smartphone screen.
I my experiments, it doubled the capture speed in JPG only allowing one picture every second instead of one per 2 seconds. In JPG+RAW it improved from 1 picture per 5 seconds to 1 picture every 2 seconds.
Tip of the day: Another benefit from this tool is that it let you set and interval to Panorama and Bracket Exposure for HDR photography.
Check out this quick tutorial on how to setup the app...
